- 1. Color Grade
- Color evaluates how colorless, near-colorless or yellow-brown tinted it is on a scale of D-Z.
- The rarest and most expensive are diamonds in the colorless range graded D,E and F on a scale that descends to Z. Diamonds with more color than Z, or in other shades such as orange, pink, blue, etc. are classified as “Fancy Colored Diamonds”
- 2. Carat Weight
- The weight of a diamond is expressed in carats. One carat is equal to 200 milligrams.
- Carat weight has the most influence on diamond value. Diamonds of different shapes may appear different sizes for the same carat weight.
- 3. Clarity Grade
- Clarity evaluates a lab grown diamond’s freedom from internal and external clarity characteristics which occurred during formation, polishing, or wear and tear.
- 4.Cut Grade
- Cut evaluates a lab grown diamond’s craftsmanship and quality of light behavior.
- The cut of a lab grown diamond includes everything humans did to convert it from a rough crystal to a polished gemstone capable of brightness, fire, contrast and scintillation.
